About Killybegs Jet Lady

Introducing Killybegs Jet Lady, an eye-catching 6-year-old mare by Jet Away and out of Little Twinkle,,,.

Please note that, owing to demand, we expect Killybegs Jet Lady to sell out during the private sales period. Please join the list to ensure you get the chance to own a share.

Killybegs Jet Lady stands at 16.2hh and has plenty of presence about her. In training with Grand National winning trainer, Lucinda Russell, she has recently been in full work, showing great determination and an honest attitude.

Killybegs Jet Lady has recorded progressive form figures of 4321 in Irish Point-to-Points. She had just the one start last spring when finishing 4th at Ballyknock and has since improved her Point-to-Point rating with every run. Her time between the flags came to a close with an impressive 18-length victory at Borris House in December.

That win is looking better and better over time; three of the horses she beat – by 18 lengths, 32½ lengths and 34½ lengths respectively – have since gone on to win races.

Lucinda is, naturally, very pleased with her new recruit, telling us that Killybegs Jet Lady ‘shapes very similarly to Apple Away (Old Gold Racing’s Aintree Grade 1 winning mare) when she joined us. She is sound, her wind sounds clear and she is coping well with all that we have asked her,,,.’

She added: ‘I think she would be ideal for Old Gold Racing. She has a good level of form already and could be another staying star for you’.

Killybegs Jet Lady is a daughter of Jet Away, one of the hottest National Hunt sires around. Jet Away is also the sire of the Willie Mullins’ Grade 1 winning mare, Brandy Love.

It’s worth noting that Lucinda has enjoyed success with two promising youngsters by Jet Away this season, in the form Snake Roll and Step Above.

Killybegs Jet Lady is out of a mare by Fourstars Allstar, which means she shares her dam’s sire with 2023 Grand National winner, Corach Rambler. They are also bred on the same cross, as both Jet Away and Corach Rambler’s sire, Jeremy, and are grandsons of the late great Danzig.

Killybegs Jet Lady came highly recommended to Old Gold Racing by Lucinda herself after she, alongside bloodstock agent, Paul McIvor bought her at the Tattersalls Cheltenham January Sales this year.

Peter Scudamore is equally excited about Killybegs Jet Lady’s prospects, telling us; ‘she’s just the type of tough strong-staying individual we love to train.’

The plan is to bring Killybegs Jet Lady back from a nice summer holiday at the end of June. She’ll be brought into full training with the aim of getting her ready for a race at the end of September.

Shares in Killybegs Jet Lady are £60 each. The syndicate term ends 31.07.2024.

The Benefits of JoiningOld Gold Racing

A share of prize money

100% of prize money won by a horse is shared between owners. If there are 1500 shares and the horse wins,,, £10,000 then each share earns £6.67. Prize money is distributed to owners at the end of the syndicate term.

Nothing extra to pay

The £60 cost of a share includes everything. You will not be asked for any further payment. At the end,,,
the term owners are given the option to renew. Renewals cost an estimated £35 and the amount is smaller than the original payment because the latter included a proportion of the purchase price of the horse, an expense only payable once.

Weekly updates

All owners receive an email every Saturday afternoon. This includes a report, usually filmed, from the,,,
trainer and stable staff. and all relevant news and anecdotes. The content, which includes free tips and articles, is exclusive to owners.
We also send one-off emails whenever there is something to say – a declaration, for example, or an injury update.
On the morning of a race we dispatch expert analysis of the contest, a realistic assessment of our horse’s chance, plus comments on betting trends and a breakdown of other races on the card.

Access to our community

Old Gold Racing has a growing community of owners, currently housed in our Facebook Groups,,,
Here, owners discuss and share content about their horses. There’s a great atmosphere and a real sense of team spirit.

Stable visits & Raceday Experiences

Old Gold Racing aims to arrange one stable visit per syndicate term. The names of Interested owners,,, are placed in a hat and the winners drawn at random. Approximately 200 tickets per visit are available. Each time one of our horses runs six (or sometimes more) of our customers can enjoy the full or ‘sole’ owner’s experience, with free entrance, exclusive access to spacious bars and restaurant facilities, the paddock and, if the horse is placed, the winner’s enclosure.
The lucky few will be selected by ballot. The more shares you own the better your chance.

Deals and Old Gold Racing events

From time to time Old Gold Racing will agree discounts on various racing-related goods and services,,, and these will be advertised to you by email.
We will also be organizing events as soon as it is possible to do so. Owners are invited to purchase tickets so they can meet other members of the syndicate, as well as the Old Gold Racing team.
