Big City Roller

Big City Roller is a striking 5-year-old gelding, in training with Charlie Longsdon.

He was bought at the Tattersalls Cheltenham January Sale this year by renowned bloodstock agent, Anthony Bromley of Highflyer Bloodstock.

Big City Roller has run in two English Point-to-Points, winning his Maiden at Sheriff Hutton for Gina and Tom Ellis in very promising style. He proved himself a tough character in what was testing ground while giving away over a stone in weight.

Big City Roller possesses a lovely dual-purpose pedigree and is already proving to be an exciting horse.

Charlie Longsdon is delighted with everything he has seen from Big City Roller so far, informing us that he is ” a big, scopey horse” with a “good easy action” who “moves beautifully”.

Big City Roller did incredibly well for a summer holiday at grass and has now embarked his novice hurdling campaign. He made an impressive winning start on his debut over hurdles and under rules at Carlisle on October 26th.

This was an especially pleasing run as we have always felt that Big City Roller will really come into his own when he goes chasing. This performance was, therefore, a huge bonus and bodes really well for the future.

Big City Roller sustained an injury in January of this year and following a successful operation is now in recovery. Provided his rehabilitation continues to go smoothly, we are expecting him to return to training in the Summer.

Shares in Big City Roller are £60 each. The syndicate term ends 30.05.2024.

Unlike other syndicates, Old Gold Racing does not charge owners VAT. This means that there is no need to reclaim VAT and that a share represents a greater proportion of the racehorse.

At the end of the syndicate term any unspent funds are returned to owners pro-rata. These funds can be withdrawn or used against the cost of renewing or purchasing a share.
