Richard FitzGerald Joins Old Gold Racing!

One of horseracing’s most significant media figures, Richard FitzGerald, has joined Old Gold Racing as an adviser and significant investor.

It’s a great boon for OGR and will see FitzGerald play a key advisory role in the ongoing development of the business.FitzGerald was formerly responsible for the media rights of 34 British racecourses. He successfully secured a terrestrial window for horseracing until the end of 2023 through his last major deal with ITV Racing, before his departure from Racecourse Media Group (RMG) last year.

Ed Seyfried, Chief Executive of Old Gold Racing, said: ‘Richard’s priceless knowledge and understanding of business and horseracing will be a huge asset to Old Gold Racing. He will be a most welcomed member of the team and will help the syndicate business grow commercially and physically. This can only be a good thing for racing as the inflow of new syndicates sees more horses in training and, ultimately, more money into the sport.’

Richard FitzGerald, added:’Since September, I’ve been extremely fortunate to have the freedom to undertake roles that I enjoy and excite me. Old Gold Racing does just that. Old Gold Racing is a great product and has achieved significant success in its first year. The syndicates have been able to deliver amazing content – taking fans closer to the sport than ever before – and that is despite lockdown! As an investor and board adviser, I look forward to working even more collaboratively with the team in delivering the right results on and off the racecourse.’
